Top Attractions in Zaragoza - Spain
Zaragoza is the regional capital of Aragon - the 'bread basket' of North East Spain. It resides of the River Ebro, which flows from the mountains to the north of the La Rioja wine region and out into the Mediterranean at the Costa del Azahar. The city is a beautiful place to visit no matter what the time of year. It also has some rather unusual attractions.
La Seo
La Seo is a spectacular multi-turreted cathedral that was built on top of an Arab mosque in the 12th century. It is one of Spain's architectural wonders, its three naves revealing a multitude of styles including additions and alterations of Gothic, Baroque, Renaissance and neo-classical design. The outer Mudejar wall and the detail it supports is well worth the visit alone!
Arab Baths
Arab Baths are found all around Spain. The ones at Zaragoza though have a unique history. It is thought by scholars that they were built on the site of Jewish Baths. The Baths' proximity to the Zaragoza synagogue seems to support this theory.
The Bullring - La Misericordia
Bullrings are undeniably one of Spain's most recognisable symbols, and there are certainly more famous bullrings than the bullring in Zaragoza. No other bullring though is likely to match the one at Zaragoza for its sheer drama and architectural magnificence. If you're not impressed by the retractable Teflon roof over a structure that draws parallels with the Coliseum in Rome, I'll eat my hat!
Zuda Tower
Zuda Tower is the only surviving piece of the magnificent Zuda Palace from 10th century Zaragoza. It was built on the site of the Roman wall, and built from Roman materials. Many of Aragon's kings have resided at Zuda Palace down the centuries. Today Zuda Tower is a tourist office.
La Lonja
La Lonja is an important addition to Zaragoza's architectural heritage. Built between 1541 and 1551 it was originally designed as an exchange (contracting exchange) in which farmers, growers and dealers would meet to trade agricultural produce. At the time it was undoubtedly one of the most important buildings in all of Aragon.
On entering La Lonja you will find an impressive building that oozes Gothic and Renaissance charm. The vaulted ceilings are truly magnificent and the detail in the carvings on the columns and on the walls of the Exchange exquisite.

First off, I have to say one thing, Kim Zolciak is one drama mama. I have received several emails giving me the “scoop” on what went down between Lisa Wu Hartwell and Kim Zolciak. It appears, Kim Zolciak and Sheree Whitfield were cast as extras in Demi Moore’s new movie, “The Joneses.” While they were on [...]
What may be bad for them, may be great for you. Don't pass on this amazing two level home which includes a fireplace, attached 2 car garage, covered patio, security system and way to many other amenities to mention in this blog. It's obvious that this corner property has great curb appeal making it a profitable investment or a spacious new family home. Cli
In real estate there are many forms of contracts. With all the new condo buildings I’ve noticed new listings on the MLS that are to be assigned. For example, I mentioned two last week for The Ritz. What is an assigned contract? This is one option if the original buyer wants to back out of the contract. Some contracts can be assigned. The one problem with an assigned contract is the original party remains ultimately liable. So, for instance, if you negotiate a lower price on the original co
As the Real Housewives of Atlanta ended their explosive first season, last night we got to hear how the girls REALLY feel about each other. I LOVED IT! This is not as bad as when you get those monthly stock reports showing that all the money you’ve stashed away for retirement is down by 36%. No sir, not that bad at all. Steve Brown reports a decline in Dallas home prices of just over 2% while some Texas cities have actually seen modest increases. Don’t even ask me about the national outlook: it’s Miller Time for builders — those Dom Perignon days a recent memory. As one local home builder told me: no one is picking up a hammer. SOUTHLAKE — Southlake is about to get another development similar to the city’s popular Town Square — only much larger. Late Wednesday night, the seven-member city council unanimously approved plans for Carillon, a mixed-use development. Some neighbors — concerned about an increase in traffic and population density — had voiced opposition to the project. DALLAS (Dallas Morning News) – Several North Texas cities and counties will soon go house hunting with more than $30 million of the federal government’s money. That’s the total amount six cities and two counties will receive through the Housing and Economic Recovery Act. The money will be used to purchase and refurbish foreclosed homes, and to provide down payment assistance to qualified homebuyers who purchase foreclosed homes. The money will go to Arlington, Dallas, Fort Worth, Garland, Gra
The real estate market has certainly experienced its shares of ups and downs over the past couple of years. Unfortunately we are currently in a down period nationwide. Dallas has not been immune to the slowdown in real estate. However, as the theory of yin and yang hold, there is positive to every negative. In the case of Dallas real estate for sale, buyers are able to find tremendous values with patience and a keen eye. With many homeowners unable to maintain their current mortgage, foreclosu
Mortgage companies say that the last thing they want to do is foreclose, because seizing a delinquent borrower’s house costs money. It follows, then, that the key to keeping the house is to make it less expensive for the lender to work with you than to foreclose. How does one go about working out a plan to keep his or her home? When you fall behind on payments, your chances of getting cooperation from the mortgage servicer are better if you follow these guidelines. Click here for the full s
DALLAS — In today’s treacherous financial environment, what’s worse than paying for something you’re not using? A Dallas company just started insuring drivers in a new and different way — by the mile — and that can offer some real savings for motorists like Ed Pichon, who doesn’t drive much. “I normally work from home. Sometimes I work downtown so I take the train,” he said. “I put on maybe five or six-thousand miles a year, and that’s mostly driving to church.” Because Pichon drives less, h

... that is a big question in today's market. For years, open houses were a marketing tool for agents to showcase properties. Back in the day, a sign in the yard, an ad in the newspaper and an open house we crucial to getting a property sold. But times have changed and so have buyers. In today's market the open house is usually a waste of time. An open house is one of the most passive marketing tools. You don't have any way of knowing if the visitors are qualified to buy a

Those of us who own Laurel Maryland real estate and are Washington Redskin fans had a tough time last night. The Redskins were playing on their home field last night, just about twenty minutes from Laurel, Maryland. The Redskins lost an important home gain to the Dallas Cowboys, 14 to 10. The Cowboys are not a good team this year and it looked like the Redskins were a good team. The Redskins had an opportunity to put Dallas in a hole, they probably would never get out of.
